Use GALILEO in Your Media Festival Projects and Win a Flip Video Camcorder!

For the 2011 Georgia Student Media Festival, GALILEO is offering the Award for Best Use of GALILEO Resources. The winner of this award will receive a Flip Video Camcorder. Entries must make use of GALILEO resources and cite those resources in the bibliography or citations list. Check out the project that won the GALILEO staff prize for best use of GALILEO resources in the 2010 Georgia Student Media Festival.

If you are looking for ideas for projects, the “Where I’m From in GALILEO” lesson plan is a great standards-based activity to produce an eligible student media project. In the coming months, GALILEO staff will be offering a webinar to explain this lesson plan and explore some of the GALILEO resources to support the lesson plan. Register at the GALILEO Training page.

Here is a handout if you would like to share this information with teachers.
