April 1 GLMA Legislative Alert: Senate Votes on HB 908 TODAY

This afternoon, HB 908 will go to the Senate floor for a vote.

HB 908, as amended by the Senate Education & Youth Committee, would give local systems the flexibility over three years to:

  • Waive expenditure controls
  • Increase class sizes for grades K-8 and changes class size averaging
  • Decrease the school year by up to 10 days, with “…any combination of planning days and up to five instructional days…”
  • Waive funding for additional days of instruction
