Free and Easy Screencasts

One of the most useful tools I’ve started to use  is ScreenToaster. This handy little Web 2.0 application allows you to make a screencast in no time! Making a quick screencast to show the steps in a process can be a terrific time saver when you have to demonstrate something multiple times. ScreenToaster allows you to narrate the steps as you go and records it all for you. When you’re finished you can upload your screencast to YouTube or make it available at the ScreenToaster site, which is the option I use. You can either make your screencast publicly available or it will give you a URL that allows you to limit access (the other option I use). Unlike some other free screencast apps ScreenToaster doesn’t limit the length of your screencast. Give it a try-and let your students try it out too!
