I HAVE A DREAM: Celebrating the Vision of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Does your school have the Picturing America portfolio?  This amazing collection provided to schools by the National Endowment for the Humanities contains James Karales’s majestic photograph “Selma to Montgomery March for Voting Rights, 1965.”   It would make a wonderful centerpiece for a January display in your library.

One of the content partners for Thinkfinity is EDSITEment.  Their January newsletter contains lesson plans and resources for honoring Dr. King on his birthday.  I especially love the link to the National Archives Digital Vault!   This would be a remarkable resource to use with an interactive whiteboard!  Wow….you just have to look at this!

If you are unfamiliar with Thinkfinity, Georgia has partnered with the Verizon Foundation to correlate their thousands of educational resources to our state standards.  There is a link to Thinkfinity (once known as Marco Polo) at GeorgiaStandards.org

While you are at home during these cold winter days, explore the many resources of Thinkfinity and the National Archives!
