North Central District’s 2nd Meeting

North Central District is hosting their second meeting for the 2009-2010 year.

Author ReLeah Lent, author of At the Schoolhouse Gate: Lessons in Intellectual Freedom, Engaging Adolescent Learners and Literacy Learning Communities and Literacy for Real: Reading, Thinking, and Learning in the Content-Areas, will be our featured guest on October 29th at the North GA RESA facility in Ellijay.  ReLeah won both the NCTE and ALA’s Intellectual Freedom award for her publication of At the Schoolhouse Gate: Lessons in Intellectual Freedom (resisting censorship).

Also presenting that day is Brandi Resendez, Gilmer County Branch Manager for the Sequoyah Regional Library.  She will be introducing the participants to Overdrive, the public library’s downloadable books.

Come join us for an informative and exciting day.  Call North GA RESA to register for the day’s activities.
