Participate Virtually in the SLJ Summit October 2-3, 2009

The School Library Journal Leadership Summit 2009 takes places this week on October 2 and 3.  If you are not one of the lucky ones getting to attend in person, don’t despair—you can still participate virtually!  Here are some entry points into the virtual presentations and conversations:

Cathy Nelson and I , among others, will be live blogging via CoverItLive, Tweeting, Ustreaming, and Flickring the sessions, so please check the conference Ning and Twitter for updates.    You can follow our summit tweets by following Cathy and/or by following me on Twitter.  In addition, School Library Journal will be providing updates of the summit via Twitter.  The official Twitter hashtag is #sljsummit09 if you are searching Twitter for ths conference hashtag.

This year’s summit theme is “librarians as Leaders of 21st Century Learning.”  At this year’s summit,  participants  will explore the powerful relationship between school librarians and 21st century skills, including information and communications skills; critical thinking; interpersonal and collaborative skills; global awareness; and financial, business, and civic literacy.  To view the keynote speakers and summit sessions, please visit the summit program.
