Standards Implementation Plan Available

This is a brief post to update you on the status of the new school library standards. The National Plan for Implementation of Standards for the 21st-Century Learner and Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs has been released. Entitled Learning4Life, it is available at the following link:

I know there has been dialogue on the copyright issues with the new standards. Please take a look at the implementation plan. I would like to know your thoughts on the standards, guidelines and the implementation plan. Most of this is available from the AASL website. I have ordered a copy of the Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs and will let you know my thoughts next month.

Send positive thoughts as I struggle to complete my dissertation this semester with the goal of graduating in December 2009.

Thanks.
