GLMA Mable Wyche Underwood Grant applications are now available on the GLMA website. This is a great opportunity to fund an idea that will help you have an exemplary program in your media center.

The Mable Wyche Underwood Grant is a $300-$500 grant awarded to school library media specialists who are members in good standing of GLMA to develop, design, implement, or continue an ongoing program which promotes the use of the library media center in the instructional program.

To be eligible for the grant, you must be a GLMA member for the last two consecutive years and you must agree to participate in a concurrent workshop along with other grant recipients at a COMO convention to share the merits of their projects. The deadline for submitting your application is May 15, 2009.

Grant applications will be judged on the following criteria: quality, innovativeness, clear objective, benefits of project to students, budget, and evaluation plan.
