Do you know when District winners for MSOTY will be announced? Where can I find this information?
I tried to register for the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl however, when I click on registration for teams it states registration is closed. The website states Official Framework of the Ga. Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl
Registration Opens October 3, 2009 Closes December 4, 2009
Does anyone know whom I should contact concerning registration?

I registered my team using the above web site. See if this works for you. I go ahead and register my team and send in my $10 fee before I even know my team is going to Region. I feel like the program can use the money. We have several high schools in my county with teams, so we will have a local competition on January 8th.
I am taking slms classes for certification and looking into GA standards for library media. Am I correct that there are none? Do you all just use the AASL?
Thanks for your help.
Is it possible to have 9th graders have an Internet Use Agreement Form filled out and signed by the parents, and kept on file for the next 3 years? At this time we are having all students fill out the form each year.
Hi Janet,
I just started reading this page and came across your question. I hope my response isn’t too late.
What I do with the AUPs is to send them home in the packets our school sends all parents at the beginning of the school year and then I present them again at all MC orientations. I attach a note to them explaining that the parent(s)/guardians have the option of rescinding their permission at any time with just a phone call or an email, and that we will keep the original form on file for the duration of their student’s time with us. This has worked well for me, and no one has ever rescinded their permission. I post in the “Comments” section of our OPAC which students have returned the form and send a listing to the teachers, and then I forward the original to the registrar to place in the students’ permanent file.
Hope this helps!
Lori
